The shared footway along Barrangary Road continues, and a cycle lane starts on the road. A dropped kerb is provided to transfer between the two. A 30mph reminder sign has been provided on a lamppost, immediately beyond the 30mph … [more]

Shared footway along Barrangary Road. Parking spaces have been marked intermittently along the main road.

A shared footway along Barrangary Road in Dargavel, at the Sainsbury's supermarket. A raised kerb appears to have been installed for a bus stop, but the buses would stop in the zig-zag zone of the adjacent zebra crossing.

The White Cart path at Pollokshaws Road. Although there is a dropped kerb at this side, there is no such convenience provided on the central reservation. See also #194884.

On the left, the Brock Burn path up to Kennishead Road, and ahead the disused underpass beneath the road. The way beyond is effectively blocked to all but the most adventurous of explorers.

Shared path section on Container Way. Pavement narrows and has these unusual skinny chicane barriers (thankfully with a decent gap between them). There seems to be space on Tesco's grass verge to possibly widen pavement.

Painted 2-way lanes on pavement go across car park exit road (which is 1-way). Green surface stops shortly after and then lane markings end at corner.

View to corner of Laird St where cycleway turns at pavement build-out (on former parking lane). Green surface stops for a short stretch.

End of kerb segregated section of Greenock town centre to Battery Park cycleway. Seems temporary kerb was deliberately angled rather than being hit by motor vehicles. Inverclyde Council voted to upgrade and make this pop-up route permanent … [more]

Loose drain cover on edge of shared path where route goes back to on-road 2-way lanes. Painted lanes across Haig St junction then more temporary kerb segregation on Dalrymple St (A770).

Painted lanes across wide mouth of side road (Crawfurd St/Hood St). Next section of route is shared path on pavement.

Grey Place (A770) looking towards pedestrian crossing. Traffic light has bike light attached. Cycleway has green surface from this point to Laird St, Greenock. Next section is paint only without any segregation for people cycling … [more]

Looking towards the Brougham St–Patrick St junction. A temporary kerb is angled across the cycleway at the junction. Apparently it means you've to dismount and use the pedestrian crossing but wasn't clear at the time. A dedicated cycle … [more]

Ramped bus stop boarder on the 2-way Greenock town centre to Battery Park cycleway. Seem slightly narrower than those on Glasgow's Spaces for People routes (like #171564).

Painted 2-way bike lanes on pavement become protected cycleway on road – Brougham St, Greenock (A770/NCN75). Part of temporary Spaces for People cycle route to Battery Park, installed in 2021. Inverclyde Council voted to keep and upgrade … [more]

Junction between paths on the Levern Walkway. See #194771 for the sign.

Unsurprising consequence of ill-thought attempt to deal with sub-optimal junction design. Still no visibility aids (reflectors) either, on what's left of the fence.

Recent work appears to have been concentrated on top-dressing the verges.
