[Image taken 31.10.21] High Petergate, York. Since 2020, following lobbying by the York Cycle Campaign (yorkcyclecampaign.bike/2020/03/03/opening-high-petergate/) this route is open in one direction (from the arch in the background - Bootham Bar) towards the location of the camera. It is narrow and usually thronged, including in bad weather, with pedestrians, wheelchair users and people cycling. Several hours of heavy rain this morning has led to half the width of the route disappearing (with any underlying hazards) beneath a thick layer of very slippery leaves.
